Rural America often has an “us vs. them” mentality, but is it right to blame our urban consumer counterparts without experiencing life in the city? And flip that the other way around – is it right to blame our rural and farming counterparts without experiencing life in Small Town USA?
Claire and Gracie have both had the opportunity to live in a variety of communities – rural/small town life growing up, medium-sized city through college, and larger cities during the first year on the job and beyond. In this episode, they discuss their likes and dislikes of living in these places – like parallel parking or having to pay to park everywhere you go or the relentless traffic of the big city – and whether they’d return back to a rural lifestyle or would prefer to stay put in the big city.
Also, does anyone else stumble over the pronunciation of “rural” sometimes? Is it roorel, rule, rrrurrle? “On a farm” or “out in the country” is way easier to say. 🙂
